Trysil Hestesenter - Equestrian Centre (formerly Eriksens Hester) offers a wide variety of equestrian activities focussed on experiencing nature safely and challenging oneself.
Svein and Gry Eriksen welcome you to their Alfarheim Ranch, a large facility with a terrific location for keeping horses and experiencing nature.
Winter:
Come along on a cosy winter adventure where everyone can take part.
Go on a genuine sleigh ride into the deep woods of Trysil.
Sleigh bells, reindeer pelts, torches, and an idyllic winter landscape out of a fairytale. Far away from streetlights and noise.
The destination is our Lapp tepee deep in the woods, with room for 50 people. There we serve a delicious moose stew, and the children can grill hot dogs for themselves. This is all included in the sleigh ride. We are fully licensed for alcohol in the tepee. We can also collect you and bring you home for an agreed price.
Summer:
The riding area stretches over several miles, and reaches into exciting primeval forests, where you can enjoy stunning views, open lowland and secret cloudberry marshes. A genuine wilderness!
Encounters with elk or other animals and birds are as good as guaranteed on our riding trips.
We can offer riding ground, and also hire out stalls and a large number of paddocks in the summertime.
We always have Norwegian coldblood trotters, Fjord horses – the national horse of Norway – and Shetland ponies for the little ones.
However, we like all types of horses, consider the horses’ qualities rather than the breed itself, which means that you will find many breeds here.
Safety is very important for us. We therefore adapt the trips to suit our riders’ abilities, which means that as a guest you will always feel safe. All our riding trips are led by experienced instructors. We can provide riding helmets. Minimum age 10 years old. Open every day. Bookings must be made at least one day in advance. See “Contact us”.

Mondays
Daytime ride at 2 p.m. Sleigh ride only – no refreshments stop. Adults NOK 200, children NOK 150. The ride takes about 35 minutes.
Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays
Evening ride at 7 p.m. with a stopover in a Sami lavvo tent, where elk stew and sausages are served.
Adults NOK 350, children NOK 250.
Elk stew and sausages are included in the price; drinks are available for sale. Fully licensed. The ride takes about 1.5 hours.
Wednesdays
Family day. Daytime ride at 2 p.m. We make a stop at the Sami lavvo tent to barbecue some sausages. Adults NOK 250, children NOK 200.

Saturdays
Evening ride at 6 p.m. with a stopover in a Sami lavvo tent, where elk stew and sausages are served.

We accept all major payment cards. We can provide transport by bus or car.
