Family Rafting
During a rafting session several people sit together in a large raft boat accompanied by a guide.
The family rafting trips take place at the southern end of Trysil River, in a section of the river that is calmer than where the other activities take place. Here the river shifts between safe, gently-flowing sections where you can swim if you wish, and rapids that give you butterflies. The trip finishes at Elgfossen. This is where the waves are at their highest, and you can have a go at wave surfing.
Nature experiences are just as important as the rafting itself on this trip. Children as young as six years old, if accompanied by a parent or guardian, can really enjoy family rafting in Trysil.
The trip includes barbecued hot dogs, juice and coffee.
Family Ducky
Splashy roller coaster!
At Trysil you can try out a roller coaster of the splashy kind. Wearing a wetsuit, helmet and life jacket you can surf on foam-tipped waves, slide down small chutes and play around in the water in calm inlets. Family ducky is guaranteed to excite you whatever your age.
Family ducky provides a slightly more challenging trip for the older youngsters, on the same stretch of water used for family rafting. You’ll be riding in a small two-person raft with your own kayak oar to steer the boat. The small boat allows you to get closer to the river and the force of the water, and the river seems much mightier than it does when sitting in a large raft boat.
