Canoe day trips including pick-up/transport
A very pleasant way to experience Trysil River is under your own steam. You can follow the calm waters from Trysil through the forest and down towards the Swedish border. This stretch of the river is rich in wildlife; in particular a lot of beavers live along the river. Fishing is good here, and there a many opportunities to catch a bite. There are also several wonderful swimming spots if the weather is good!
You will be picked up at an agreed location.
Short canoe trip
The trip runs from Villmarkskompaniet’s premises at Elvenes in Trysil town centre to Grasmo Villmarkscamp, 11 kilometres further downstream, where you will be picked up.
Time, location & cost
The trips take place every day from 25 May to 11 October.
We meet at: Elvenes, Vestsidevegen 11 between 10.00 and 13.00.
Collection: Grasmo Villmarkscamp at 15.30.
Cost: NOK 495 per canoe.
Long canoe trip
The trip runs from Villmarkskompaniet’s premises at Elvenes in Trysil town centre to Kolos, 19 kilometres further downstream, where you will be picked up.

The trips take place every day from 25 May to 11 October.
We meet at: Elvenes, Vestsidevegen 11 before 10.30.
Collection: Kolos at 15.30.
Cost: NOK 545 per canoe.
Guests with paddling experience can try a trip on a stretch of the river with both flowing water and small rapids. The trip runs along Trysil River from Jordet and down to Elvenes in Trysil town centre. The stretch is 16 kilometres long, and provides varying degrees of difficulty. You will encounter some smaller rapids. This is also an excellent trip for fishing from the canoe.

Start: We set off at 10.00 from Villmarkskompaniet’s premises in Vestsidevegen 11.

Extended canoe trips
We know the river and the watercourses in Trysil well and will be happy to help you organise your paddling route. We know where the good camping spots are, and where it’s best to paddle. We will be happy to drive you to the start point and pick you up when the trip is finished.
We charge NOK 9 per km for the transport of people and canoes.

Canoe hire at Ulvsjøen Lake
Ulvsjøen Lake is in Vestby, 17 kilometres from Trysil town centre.
It is one of Trysil’s best pike-fishing locations. Here you will find a little kiosk where you can hire canoes and boats.
Time, location & cost
The kiosk is open every day from 18 June to 14 August, 12.00–18.00.
Hire of boats and canoes: One hour NOK 50, 12.00–18.00 NOK 250, 24 hours NOK 300. Prices include two life jackets and oars. The kiosk only accepts cash payment.
